The initiative focuses on transforming crop residues such as cocoa pod husks, maize cobs, and other agricultural by-products into high quality biochar. Produced using improved artisanal kilns and monitored through digital MRV tools, the biochar is applied locally or supplied to certified carbon removal markets. Each tonne of biochar represents long term carbon storage and helps support soil restoration in farming communities.
The project is being deployed across key agricultural regions in Ghana, with expansion opportunities across West Africa and selected sites in North America.
Ecovise Group’s biochar program is built on four pillars:
e make climate action measurable, inclusive, and profitable — empowering local people to thrive in a low-carbon future.
Ecovise Group is currently preparing multi site implementation across Ghana, engaging with community partners, and establishing offtake pathways with carbon removal buyers in North America and internationally.
Pilot deployments have demonstrated strong production performance, reliable feedstock availability, and positive community reception.
