We’re excited to announce that Ecovise Group has been awarded a grant under the GROW Accelerator supporting our mission to transform agricultural waste across West Africa (Tropics) into biochar that empowers rural communities and delivers long-term climate benefits.
This funding marks an important first step as we:
Create new opportunities for women and smallholder farmers through local biochar production.
Convert crop residues into organic soil enhancers that improve yields and store carbon for centuries.
Build a scalable, verifiable, and community-led model for durable carbon removal.
Our approach is:
Scalable – Designed to reach millions of tropical landowners, unlocking gigatonne-scale carbon removal.
Additional – Carbon finance enables biochar production and removals that would not otherwise occur.
Equitable – Directly channels climate finance into communities most impacted by climate change.
Permanent – Biochar applied to soils locks away carbon for 1,000+ years, verified through a scientific registry with robust MRV.
The Project will leverage Canadian innovation, cleantech expertise, and environmental leadership, showcasing how Canada’s sustainability ecosystem can drive equitable climate action abroad while opening opportunities for Canadian technology providers and carbon markets. At Ecovise, we’re proving that sustainable development and climate resilience can go hand in hand one rural community at a time.
